Happy birthday to me!

Today I turn 24. Yikes!!! That's a big one and it's hitting me harder than a bullet train would. This also happens to be the first post I finally share on Facebook. So hello new "readers" from Facebook. You all make me nervous but welcome to my lame blog. Please be gentle. PS. I rarely share restaurant or travel or event experiences so if you came here for that... you're shit out of luck and don't ever expect that from me. Haha Sorry, I thought I was ready and I thought my 24th birthday would be the perfect time to officially announce this blog on Facebook. I am definitely not ready yet.

Now if you've read the title (which I'm assuming you have), I am here to share my "wisdom" that I have learned in my 24 years of existence. I know, you're probably like; "Girl, you're only 24. What wisdom could you possibly know?" EXACT same thing I started thinking too. But here I am, still typing and about to drop some "wisdom"... Here goes nothing.

24 things I've learned at 24...

Friends come in different shapes, sizes, ages, gender, sexual preferences, etc. and you will find them in the most unlikely places. Some may come and go but you will enjoy the experiences.
You do not need to impress random strangers/"friends". The only person you need to impress is yourself.
Stop idolizing different celebrities/bloggers/vloggers/people. Stop trying to copy them because you want to be "cool" or because it's a trend. Just do you.
Always go at your own pace.
Not everyone has a heart that is as nice as yours.
Enjoy being by yourself. Go to the mall by yourself. Go eat at a restaurant by yourself. Watch a movie by yourself. Being alone doesn't mean you're lonely.
Mental health will never be a laughing matter. Let go of the people who laugh at you because of your mental health "issues".
Pizza, french fries and ice cream will cure whatever shitty mood you're in.
Making fun of yourself is normal. If you know you've acted like a fool, laugh it off.
It's okay if not everyone in the world likes you and it's okay if you don't like everyone in the world.
Being a "young adult" is a fucking struggle.
Following number 11; There will be older people who will still think of you as a child and who will boss you around. Avoid these people like the plague. These people just want to see your world burn.
Also avoid toxic people and people whose sole mission in life is to invalidate you and prove you wrong.
Rejection is a natural occurrence. Don't overthink it.
Restricting yourself of life's little pleasures will just make you miserable.
If you're not sure, ASK. Forget sounding silly or stupid. Every moment is a learning experience.
It's okay to quote Taylor Swift... "Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. I shake it off. I shake it off."
It's also okay to quote Kanye West... "I'm living the future so the present is my past. My presence is a present so kiss my ass." Hahahaha!
Telling someone you miss them or that you love them isn't going to kill you or make you look "desperate".
Ignorant people will always tend to act all high and mighty. No use wasting energy talking to them.
Taking time off for yourself isn't selfish and shouldn't make you feel guilty. TREAT YO SELF.
Don't let society tell you how you should feel, how you should react, how you should cope. Society shouldn't be your main source of validation in life.
Not advertising every single detail about your life will feel so fucking good. No one needs to know your business.
Cute otter videos will make you go from sad crying to happy crying in a matter of seconds. Based on experience of course.

And there you have it. 24 things that I have learned so far. If you were expecting it to be groundbreaking, I'm sorry. Hahaha!
